Mayor Boris Johnson was elected the new mayor of London on Thursday 1st May 2008. His election coincided with Mission 15 
15 Geneva. So delighted were the regiment about Boris Johnson's victory, they toasted his success with cans of cheap beer on top of La dole. This action brought about the toasts, which are now a regular feature of the Colonel's breaks.
