A general-purpose ending for a word, which generally takes a noun or adjective and turns it into a noun denoting an object or process with that noun or adjective as a major distinguishing characteristic.

This ending is often elided to -troid or -oid, and is occasionally confused with the similar ending -atron.

Examples

  • Shall we head for the domeatroid over there?
  • Did you get any photos on your digitroid?
  • When eating a Müller crunch corner, I like to consume the yoghurt and the circuloids separately.
